Raya Stefanova (b. 1990 Bulgaria) is operating in the extended field of design as a maker, curator and constant researcher.

She began her open design practice after receiving a BA from Design Academy Eindhoven in 2014 [Living Soil]. In her work she explores diversity of topics reflecting on current issues in a larger context of people, culture, science, education, and environment.

From October 2015 to March 2017 she served as curator and programme coordinator of ONE DESIGN WEEK [Can I help you?] - an international festival of contemporary design taking place in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Her biggest challenge in this position was to identify and understand the themes that are really relevant to society today by making interdisciplinary links, reacting to the rapid evolution of design in general.

Currently she is one of the collaborators at Other Schoolan on-going open blueprint for an alternative art, architecture and design pedagogical project.
